It is both a ketone meter and a glucose meter. It is a very simple process to measure blood ketones. You put the strip in the meter and wait for the check to be done. You then use the lancing device to get a small drop of blood and apply that to the end of the strip. In 10 seconds you’ll have your result.

The meter only works with our ketone strips. All ketone strips and meters are proprietary technology. We can’t make a strip that would work in another meter or a meter that works with other brands of strips.

Will this monitor both glucose and ketone levels? (With relative strips?)

Yes. The kit comes with both 10 ketone strips and 10 gluocse strips.

Will I need to purchase glucose strips for this monitor?

10 glucose strips are included with the kit. If you'd like additional test strips we offer vials of 50 glucose strips for sale as well.

The picture indicates that this device also provides \"...plus hematocrit & hemoglobin\" monitoring. How/when is that done?

This is an older test strip. The FDA has stopped us from showing the hematocrit and hemoglobin in the readings. They felt that the average consumer didn't need this information and we didn't have any choice in the matter. Sorry about that.

how many lancets come w/ the kit? and how low of a reading w/ the ketone monitor give? Thanks

The kit comes with 10 lancets. The meter will read down to .1 mmol. At .0 it will read out as low.

Do I need to order more lancets? This is my first time using anything like this.

Each time you test you should use a new lancet. You don’t want to inject a dirty needle into your skin. The kit comes with 10 lancets to get your started. If you order additional test strips you'll want to get more lancets too.

Why does this kit not ship with the referenced control solution? Don’t see a way to order it either.

The control solution is something that needs to be purchased separately. It will be available in a week or two. The the Best Ketone Test meter is calibrated at the factory, so you don't need to use the control solution at this point. The only reason that you'd need it is if you feel your ketone meter calibration is off.

Can this monitor be used by 2 people?

Yes, the meter can be used by two people. Just note that you’d want to write down the results because the stored data in the meter will not tell you which persons data it is.

Do u have a machine that just tests ketone… I don’t need a glucose monitor….I already have one.

The meter is a dual meter so it tests both glucose and ketones. However, you don't need to buy the glucose strips If you don't need them. You can use this meter with just ketoen strips and it will still serve its purpose.
